Well, I've been reading my summer away. I think my count is around 10 books so far.
I just finished The Search for Wondla by Tony DiTerlizzi. Now I'm on to Flush by Carl Hiassen. I have never read anything by Carl Hiassen, but have always been intrigued by his covers. One of my students read his books this year and since I am always trying to keep on top of what my kids read, I added these books to my to-do list. I like his realistic, sarcastic tone.
As for PD books, I'm slowly reading two- Pathways to the Common Core by Calkins, Ehrenworth, and Lehman (all about dissecting the ELA Common Core stds) and Everyday Editing by Jeff Anderson. Once I have a better handle on the two, I will relay more information about them.

I've loved reading what other teachers (you!) do in your classrooms, so I thought, "why not me?"...
